Quiet Morning: Rooted & Grounded in Love
Quiet Morning: Rooted & Grounded in Love
Saturday, May 5; 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
In his letter to the Ephesians, St. Paul prays that our Lord “grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love.”
In Maine’s slow spring, though roots stretch tendrils deep into the ground, we see little evidence of this new and growing life. Only years of experience give our hearts faith that something really is stirring underground. So it often is with the spiritual life: we feel still frozen, or stuck in mud, or as though our connection to the sacred has withered, while in fact, invisibly, God continues to nurture and nourish and stretch us.
During this Quiet Morning, there will be time to explore this experience of being rooted and grounded in God’s love, even when we feel uprooted or adrift.
The morning will begin with prayer, followed by two brief talks interspersed with periods of extended silence for personal reflection. Then there will be an opportunity to share thoughts and insights, and to share a simple lunch.
Please call the church office (725-5342) to register, so there will be enough handouts and enough food!
***Childcare will be available.***
